NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio mourns the loss of Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs-Jones
Cleveland, OH – "Stephanie Tubbs-Jones was dedicated to protecting reproductive rights for women. In 2003, Stephanie was one of our first 'Champions of Choice' and truly set the bar for those who followed. We honored her committed to our cause not just because we could always count on her vote; we honored her because we could always count on her voice. If women needed someone to stand up and speak out for us, Stephanie was always there," said Kellie Copeland, executive director of NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio. "This is an incalculable loss," said Copeland. "But Stephanie offers the best example of the need to carry on in the face of tragedy. She demonstrated time and again enormous perseverance and dedication to justice, seeming to gain energy from the toughness of the fight.
