Activists thank staffs who offer abortions
"He wears a bulletproof vest to work. He checks his rearview mirror a lot, especially driving home, where he once discovered a man wearing camouflage and night-vision goggles in the woods behind his house. He'll never forget the high-speed chases of the 1980s and early 1990s, him in the lead on the highway between Cleveland and Youngstown. He's not a cop. He's a doctor who provides abortions." This is how the article in the March 11th Cleveland Plain Dealer begins. The day before this reporter followed Kellie Copeland, Executive Director of NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio and area activists as they delivered thank you gifts to area clinics as we celebrated the National Day of Appreciation for Abortion Providers and wrote an article about the challenges abortion providers face in our state.
