As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work in our Cleveland or Columbus office and be a part of a wide range of projects that may include:
• Building the grassroots pro-choice movement in Ohio • Educating the public about reproductive rights issues through outreach and organizing efforts • Helping to elect pro-choice legislators • Passing pro-choice legislation • Increasing access to emergency contraception (EC) • Assisting with NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio’s fundraising efforts

Responsibilities:
Each intern will have the opportunity to play a lead role in a specific aspect of NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio’s organizing, political, or development programs. In addition, each intern is required to:
• Supervise and participate in volunteer nights, phone banks, mailings, and outreach efforts • Work on research and writing projects and assist staff with administrative tasks
Time Commitment/ Compensation:
Internship opportunities are available throughout the year.
• All internships are unpaid • Spring/Fall Semester internships: 8-12 hours per week • Summer internships: 16-20 hours per week • Evening availability-projects may require occasional Saturdays and Sundays • NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio will gladly work with you to help you get course credit with your university

(start and end dates are flexible)Positions available: (positions are unpaid, but are available for college credit) -Development Intern (1 position open) This internship consists of assisting NPCO's development associate in the following tasks: data entry, ensuring our donors receive thank-you notes and receipts, working with a committee to plan and carry out NARAL's big event in the summer as well as a second possible cocktail party event, grant writing, general assistance in fund raising, as well as filing and office management tasks. We would like this intern to be available at least 15 hours a week, either 2 or 3 days per week. Having a laptop you can bring to the office is a plus, but not critical. -Outreach Intern (1 position open) In this internship, you will work hand-in-hand with the volunteer coordination intern to inform the public about NARAL's work. You will be expected to identify events throughout the Northeast Ohio area that progressive audiences may be at and attend to represent NARAL. At most events, we expect you to gain petition signatures and give out membership information. Your other main duty would be to work on our Foundation's newsletter, The Voice of Choice. Familiarity with Adobe programs- specifically InDesign, is preferred. Having a laptop you can bring to the office to run InDesign is preferred. We will provide you with software and reimburse you for travel mileage and any outreach costs. We need this intern candidate to be available some evenings and weekends in order to represent us at events. You must also be available for in-office work at least 5 hours per week on the same day as the Volunteer Coordinator Intern, as you will work together on event outreach. -Volunteer Coordination Intern (1) In this internship, you will work hand-in-hand with the outreach intern to inform the public about NARAL's work. You will be expected to accompany the outreach intern at events throughout the Northeast Ohio area that progressive audiences may be at and attend to represent NARAL. At most events, we expect you to gain petition signatures and give out membership information. Your other main duty will be to recruit volunteers to help with mailings and phonebanks for NARAL. We already have a volunteer list, but want to build it, as well as keep volunteers in the loop on a frequent basis. You will be responsible (with the help of the development associate) for holding a volunteer training mid-summer. We prefer if you can bring your own laptop (not critical, but a plus) and will provide you with a secure, NARAL email address for all correspondence and reimburse you for travel mileage and any outreach costs. We need this intern candidate to be available some evenings and weekends in order to represent us at events. You must also be available for in-office work at least 5 hours per week on the same day as the Outreach Intern, as you will work together on event outreach.
