NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio is extremely proud to introduce our new team for 2017! As Ohio remains a battle ground in the war on women, we are committed to lead the fight for reproductive justice. Thanks to support from Ohio women and men just like you, we are continuing to expand our staff to organize pro-choice citizens and move them into action. Please meet our new team members; join the conversation on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and find ways to support their work.

KELLIE COPELAND – Executive Director

Kellie Copeland has served as the Executive Director of NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio since 2002. In her fight to protect reproductive freedom in Ohio, she has been quoted in every major Ohio media outlet and has testified at over 40 anti-abortion hearings. With a degree from the University of Akron, her career includes working for the AFL-CIO, Clinton/Gore `96 and the Michigan Democratic Party Coordinated Campaign. She has held appointments at the U.S. Department of Education, the Summit County Board of Elections, and the City of Tallmadge. Kellie also serves as a deaconess and treasurer for First Grace United Church of Christ in Akron.

JAIME MIRACLE – Deputy Director

A native of Columbus, Ohio, Jaime Miracle started with the organization as a field organizer in June 2004, and moved to policy director in 2010. Prior to working with NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio, she conducted research into vision development at the OSU College of Optometry and breast cancer prevention at the Ohio State University Medical Center. Jaime has a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy with a focus on Women’s Health Research and Activism from the Western College Program at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

PAM McKEE – Director of Development

Pamela McKee has worked in nonprofit development for over 15 years, with a diverse array of service providers in the arts, human services, and community development. In addition to donor relations, grant writing, corporate giving, and special events management, she brings experience in strategic planning, board development, and capacity building. With degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Cleveland State, she is an historian of African art and teaches at local universities. Pam currently serves as co-head of the Cleveland chapter of NOW.

VASHITTA JOHNSON – Field and Political Director

Vashitta Johnson is from Warren, Ohio and that is also where she started her political and organizing experience since 2002. She graduated from Kent State University and has worked on many presidential and issue based campaigns as well as focused on legislation. She recently joined NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio after working for the Ohio Senate. Vashitta is excited to accept this brand new position and work to put her skills and experiences into play to take NARAL's field program to the next level while still working politically on all issues within the organization.

GABRIEL MANN – Communications Manager

Gabriel joins the NARAL team following six years with Planned Parenthood Advocates of Ohio. There, he honed skills in web and graphic design, video editing, fundraising, monitoring legislation, electoral field work, coordinating social media, and database management. A graduate of The Ohio State University, Gabriel’s career has included being a Legislative Aide in the Ohio Senate, political and labor organizing with SEIU District 1199 WV/OH/KY, and multiple ballot initiatives.

ANNIE KROL – Northern Ohio Organizer

Annie Krol grew up east of Cleveland, graduated from Allegheny College, and returned to the neighborhood late 2014 to become part of the team. As a former doula and advocate for the Buffalo refugee community, a rabble-rousing puppeteer, stilt artist, and street performer, Annie's activisms have taken many forms. Choice has been a central motivator for Annie over the years and she has dedicated many of them towards peer education on sexuality, health, and reproductive health access. Annie is eager to fight for reproductive freedom for the people of Ohio, to cultivate and mobilize intentional community spaces, and to facilitate more inclusive social movements.

KELLEY FREEMAN – Central and Southern Ohio Organizer

Kelley Freeman joins the NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio team after having worked on campaigns, in an abortion clinic, for a Unitarian Universalist church, and as non-profit communications staff. She has been a long-time dedicated volunteer in central Ohio with various reproductive justice focused organizations, and is also a performer and extensive crafter. Kelley has been in Columbus since 2014, having moved to Ohio for work after graduating from the University of South Carolina in 2013. She hopes that her colorful background and weird blend of skills will come together well and lead to some exciting things for her position as NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio’s Central & Southern Ohio Organizer. When not volunteering or working or crafting, Kelley tries to sleep and is a moderately proud mom of four cats and an eventual human.

ELAINA RAMSEY – Executive Director, Ohio Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice

Elaina is thrilled to work actively with NARAL in collaborative partnership to advance reproductive health, rights, and justice across the Buckeye state. As the executive director of the Ohio Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, Elaina practices compassionate care as a pro-faith, pro-family, and pro-choice Christian. With a decade of campaign, advocacy, and communications experience at the intersections of faith and politics, she loves listening to people’s stories and engaging communities for social change. She received her bachelor's from Capital University and holds a master's degree in both Theological Studies (Wesley Theological Seminary) and International Peace & Conflict Resolution (American University). Elaina hails from Chillicothe and adores her wild and wonderful family.
